Pumpkins, Skeletons & Beetlejuice, OH MY!
On the blog this week we share with you our most recent wedding we had the opportunity to photograph. The wedding took place on October 27, 2019 at the 242 Park Avenue Venue located in the Lost Barrio neighborhood in sunny, Tucson, Arizona.
Our couple Caitlin and Kaleb spent months planning and putting together their unique, one-of-kind wedding that boasted themes which included touches of halloween, all-things-horror, gothic chic decor and much more.
The wedding started off with an outdoor ceremony at the venue in front of a historical train caboose where the couple was married by planner/officiant, Jordan Ochoa of Popweds.
As the couple exchanged their vows to each other, their officiant held in hand the most important book known to man kind...The Book for the Recently Deceased.
After the couple exchanged their first kiss as husband and wife, their special day continued on with some beautiful and fun portrait photos we took outside the venue.
The night continued on as the couple made their way to the dance floor to have their first dance together. As if we hadn't already fallen in love with their decor and theme, their song selection made it just the icing on top as they selected their first dance song to be Forever Young by Alphaville. Where are all my Napoleon Dynamite fans at?!
As guests settled in after the first dance, they enjoyed a delicious and well thought out meal to compliment the theme. As if we couldn't add more to the theme of Beetlejuice! Guests sat down to enjoy an asian inspired menu created by chef and owner, Kenneth Foy of Dante's Fire. Remember the scene in Beetlejuice where the Deetz's have their first dinner at home since taking over the Maitland's residence...? As they sat down, Lydia makes the statement that she may very well have a stroke from the amount of MSG in her dinner...hint hint, they had cantonese food that night. Well one thing I can say for sure, no MSG in that meal but if I had a stroke, it would have been worth it! The food was amazing and the spring rolls...to die for!
The night continued on and the fun was just beginning! The DJ brought it way back with some amazing tunes and seriously got everyone off their feet!
The night finally ended with the most epic shot of all...
Because we know how motivated our couple was about the theme, we couldn't end the night without bringing these out to play with!
"You know what, I don't think we survived the crash..." - Barbara Maitland
This wedding hands down has been the best we've had the chance to photograph so far. Thank you to Caitlin and Kaleb for allowing us to be a part of their special day!
